CASE STUDY — TRANSLATION API

12,000+ certified translations per month — fully automated through API integration

The challenge before Ellytic

The platform processed 500+ regulatory document submissions per month for clients operating in Greece. Each submission required certified Greek translations of identity documents, financial statements, and compliance certificates — managed through 3 different translation vendors with no API integration.

Manual translation ordering took 45 minutes per document on average — uploading, specifying requirements, tracking delivery, and validating certification format. With 12,000+ pages per month, the operations team had 4 full-time staff dedicated solely to translation coordination.

Translation quality varied between vendors. 15% of certified translations were rejected by Greek authorities due to formatting inconsistencies, missing certification stamps, or incorrect legal terminology — requiring costly re-translations and delaying client regulatory submissions.

HOW ELLYTIC SOLVED IT
1

API-first integration

ComplianceFlow's engineering team integrated Ellytic's translation API in 3 days. The API accepts document uploads (PDF, image, or structured text), specifies source/target language and certification requirements, and returns certified translations with status webhooks.

2

Automated document classification

The API automatically classified incoming documents — identity documents, financial statements, legal certificates — and applied the correct translation template. This eliminated manual specification of requirements and ensured consistent formatting across all document types.

3

Webhook-driven workflow

Translation completion triggered webhooks that automatically attached certified translations to the pending regulatory submission. No human touched the translation between API submission and final delivery — the entire flow was event-driven.

4

Quality assurance with rejection tracking

Every translation included certification metadata (translator ID, certification number, date) that met Greek authority requirements. The platform tracked acceptance rates per document type — maintaining a 99.7% first-submission acceptance rate.

Detailed workflow breakdown
1

Document upload via API

When a client submits documents for Greek regulatory processing, the platform sends each document to Ellytic's translation API with metadata: source language (auto-detected or specified), target language (Greek), certification level (standard or notarized), and urgency tier.

2

Automated processing & translation

Ellytic processes the document through OCR (if image-based), classifies the document type, applies the correct translation template, and routes to certified translators. Standard translations complete in 4–8 hours; express translations in under 2 hours.

3

Certification & quality check

Each translation receives certification metadata — translator credentials, certification number, date, and authority-compliant formatting. Automated quality checks verify completeness, terminology consistency, and format compliance before delivery.

4

Webhook delivery & submission

Upon completion, Ellytic fires a webhook to ComplianceFlow's platform with the certified translation PDF, certification metadata, and a verification hash. The platform automatically attaches the translation to the pending submission — no manual intervention required.
